about

Sometime in the winter of 2019 Klaut came into the possession of the script for a very strange play, written by a librarian. The play was a murder mystery, set in a municipal library, featuring a cast of improbable characters, and a series of library-related in-jokes. Employing the cut-up-technique, Klaut transformed the text into something else entirely, perhaps revealing hidden anxieties in the psyche of the original author. This resulted in 'wtf library'.

An entirely improvised composition recorded in one take, with additional overdubs, 'wtf library' manifested itself remarkably quickly. However, there seemed to be some kind of malevolent spirit present during the recording, almost as if the fictitious victim of the original murder was enraged by cut-up-technique, or indeed profoundly irritated by the music.

Klaut would like it to be noted that they are very much in favour of libraries, and mean no disrespect.

about

KLAUT Warrington, UK

KLAUT are a semi improvised noise collective who have been baffling small audiences since 2015. We like krautrock sounds and fine stouts.
